Demo mode. Sample data, kept only in this browser.

What's private

Plain language, no fine print.

Spark Buddy conversations

Who can see it: Only you. Unsaved chats stay in app memory while you navigate Spark. Closing or reloading starts fresh. Save Conversation keeps a private copy you can reopen; save again to keep later messages.

Saved titles and transcripts are encrypted in live mode. Demo saves stay in this browser. AI receives your active conversation only when you turn AI on. Onboarding answers and actions you confirm are separate records and are not erased when a conversation ends.

Intimacy preferences and private sparks

Who can see it: Only you see your comfort map, desire, settings and one-sided sparks. Your partner sees mutual Yes or Maybe item IDs and mutual sparks only while both have enabled Intimacy.

Live preferences are protected by database access rules. No and Not now answers are never shown or attributed. The general Buddy has no access to this area.

Intimacy guide and reflections

Who can see it: Only you. AI is off by default; if you opt in here, your own message, recent Intimacy conversation, desire, map and shared overlaps go to Claude to select guidance.

Conversation and reflection text are encrypted before live storage. In Demo mode everything stays in this browser and is fictional; anyone with access to the browser can inspect it.

Our Story · people and gatherings

Who can see it: People and gathering cards are shared with your partner. Health reminder preferences are private.

These cards are encrypted in live mode. Only the author can edit or remove a shared card.

Shared Dreams and Life Anchors

Who can see it: Dreams start private. Your Life Anchors, self-reflection and connection log stay private. Only separate summaries or dream cards you explicitly share are visible to your partner.

Encrypted in live mode. Shared roadmaps require both partners to join; either can leave. Forecasts, support asks and appreciations are shared, and only their author edits them.

Your onboarding answers

Who can see it: Only you, unless you choose to share one through Spark Buddy.

Encrypted before they're saved. Every answer starts off the table.

What you let Spark Buddy share

Who can see it: Your partner's Buddy, and only the items you marked Hint (your approved words) or Open. If your partner turned on AI, their Buddy may send them to Claude, and read them aloud with the studio voice (ElevenLabs).

Encrypted. Change or stop sharing any item at any time.

Your chat with Spark Buddy

Who can see it: Only you. Your partner can't see it, and their Buddy can't either.

Encrypted before it's saved. Clear it any time.

Projects, the shared calendar, joint savings goals

Who can see it: The two of you.

Either of you can add or update them.

Your own savings goals

Who can see it: Only you, unless you turn on “Let my partner see this” (they still can't change it).

Spark never connects to your bank.

Monthly check-in answers and pace votes

Who can see it: Only you until you both submit, then both of you.

Encrypted. Revealed side by side.

Relationship effort alerts

Who can see it: Both of you as soon as you choose to share a Yes. Your partner does not need to complete a check-in first.

Unsubmitted choices and No answers are not saved or shared. A shared alert records who raised the concern and whether it is about their own effort or their partner's. Your partner can acknowledge it; only its author can resolve it. In live mode, access is limited to your couple. Alerts appear inside Spark; they are not phone push notifications. Demo alerts stay in this browser.

Quick check-in scores

Who can see it: Only you until you both submit for that week.

Shown as a shared trend, never as blame.

Our Story, Moments, notes, activities, date ideas

Who can see it: The two of you.

Photos and clips live in a private folder only you two can open.

Name, nickname, colors, check-in rhythm, social choice

Who can see it: The two of you.

So you can see each other's choices openly.

What Spark never does

  • No location tracking, no monitoring, no reading your partner's activity.
  • No coaching one partner to play games, withhold affection, or pressure the other.
  • No guilt streaks.

When AI is used

  • Date ideas: your city and the titles, categories and ratings of past activities are sent to Claude to suggest new ideas.
  • Monthly check-in summary: after you both submit, both sets of check-in answers are sent to Claude for a short, kind summary of overlaps and gaps.
  • Spark Buddy: AI is off until you turn it on. When it's on, what you tell your Buddy, your own answers, Life Anchors and plans, and the items your partner chose to share are sent to Claude so it can reply. Your partner's off-the-table answers never are.
  • Buddy's studio voice: when AI is on, the words Buddy says out loud are sent to ElevenLabs (a voice service) to turn them into speech. Those words can include things you told Buddy and hints or answers your partner chose to share, and ElevenLabs may keep that text under its own policy. Your voice is never sent there. Nothing is sent when AI is off or when you choose voices that stay on your device.
  • With AI off (the default), your private onboarding answers are never sent to AI, and Buddy talks with your browser's own voice (see the next point).
  • Talking to Buddy uses your browser's own speech features. Some browsers, like Chrome and Edge, process speech on Google's or Microsoft's servers. In Buddy's voice settings you can choose voices that stay on your device. Spark never records or stores your voice.

Your data, your call

Either of you will be able to export or permanently delete all of your own data at any time. Those self-serve tools are planned for a later release and are not in this preview yet. When an account is deleted, its private answers, check-in answers and profile are removed with it.

Spark is for adults 18 and older.
